PM Modi Watches Drone Demonstration By Namo Drone Didis, Also Felicitates Lakhpati Didis
The NaMo Drone Didi Initiative is helping rural women become drone pilots for farming. The ultimate goal is to equip 15,000 women-led Self-Help Groups (SHGs) with agricultural drones.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi witnessed a groundbreaking demonstration today, showcasing the prowess of Namo Drone Didis in agriculture. The event took place at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute in the national capital, where PM Modi participated in the Sashakt Nari Viksit Bharat programme.
he highlight of the event was the agricultural drone demonstrations conducted by the Namo Drone Didis. These women, hailing from 10 different locations across the country, showcased their skills simultaneously. Prime Minister Modi, impressed by their dedication and innovation, handed over drones to 1,000 Namo Drone Didis.
The Namo Drone Didi initiative, along with the Lakhpati Didi program, holds significant importance in PM Modi's vision of empowering women, especially in rural areas. The objective is to provide economic empowerment and financial autonomy to women, thereby uplifting entire communities.

As part of the event, Prime Minister Modi honoured the Lakhpati Didis, whose exceptional achievements have been bolstered by the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihoods Mission. These inspiring women are not only achieving financial independence but also motivating others to follow suit.
In a bid to further support the cause of women empowerment, PM Modi disbursed approximately Rs 8,000 crore in bank loans to Self Help Groups (SHGs) at subsidized interest rates. These Bank Linkage Camps, set up by banks in every district, aim to provide financial assistance to women-led SHGs.

Additionally, PM Modi allocated around Rs 2,000 crore in Capitalization Support Fund to SHGs, ensuring sustained support for their initiatives. This financial boost will enable SHGs to expand their operations and contribute more effectively to the rural economy.
