WEATHER: Rainfall and Thunderstorms Sweep Across Northwestern India, Affecting Multiple Regions

The air quality in Delhi has shown a slight improvement but remains in the 'very poor' category, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 375 on Monday, compared to 389 the previous day.

In a forecast released by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), parts of northwestern India, including eastern Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh, are expected to experience light to moderate rainfall along with thunderstorms and hailstorms on Monday, November 27.

The Vidharbha region of Maharashtra is anticipated to witness intense to very intense cloud cover, accompanied by light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, gusty winds, and hailstorms. This weather pattern is expected to persist in the region.

However, western Gujarat and the Kachchh region are predicted to have stable weather conditions on Monday, characterized by clear skies, according to the IMD.

Additionally, parts of Haryana, western Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, and Himachal Pradesh may also face light to moderate rainfall during the night hours on Monday.

Meanwhile, the air quality in Delhi has shown a slight improvement but remains in the 'very poor' category, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 375 on Monday, compared to 389 the previous day. The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) recorded AQI levels at 7 am, with Pusa Road at 370, the Lodhi Road area at 338, and the IGI Airport area at 359. The weather department predicts a brief respite from poor air quality for the national capital, with the possibility of very light rain or drizzle.

On Sunday, parts of Madhya Pradesh experienced its first spell of rain in the winter season. The IMD has issued an 'orange' alert, anticipating heavy showers in the southwestern part of the state over the next day.

In Maharashtra, heavy rains, thunderstorms, and hailstorms are predicted for Mumbai, Thane, and Palghar, while thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are likely in parts of Nashik and Ahmednagar districts.

As the weather patterns continue to evolve, residents are advised to stay updated on local forecasts and take necessary precautions in the affected regions.
