Farmers from the Bharatiya Kisan Union arrived at Jantar Mantar on Monday, where wrestlers have been protesting against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh since April 23. Many videos shared on social media platform shows the BKU members breaking the barricades and trying to reach the protest venue.

"Farmers were escorted to Jantar Mantar." They were rushing to the dharna location, so some of them climbed the entry barricades, which collapsed and were removed by them. "The police team kept the back barricades aside to facilitate their entry," stated DCP Pranav Tayal of New Delhi.

"The protestors have arrived at the dharna site, and the meeting is proceeding peacefully," stated a senior police official.

This comes a day after BKU (Ekta Ugrahan) activists, including women, staged a demonstration at the Tikri border after being barred from entering the national capital by police. They had, however, breached the barricades and invaded the capital.

Over 2,000 Delhi Police officers were deployed on Sunday during the farmers' march to Jantar Mantar to join the protesting wrestlers. According to the Delhi Police, people are only permitted to enter the city in private vehicles and buses, not tractor-trolleys.

Wrestlers like Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik, and Bajrang Punia have been demonstrating outside the Jantar Mantar, seeking the arrest and dismissal of WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who has been accused of sexual harassment by female grapplers.

On Sunday, the wrestlers gave the Centre until May 21 to accept their demands. Wrestlers Sakshi Malik and Vinesh Phogat said they were prepared for a long haul during a briefing in front of around 2,000 supporters from khaps, farmer, and women organizations.

In another development, despite Samyukta Kisan Morcha's backing for the wrestlers' protest against him, WFI chairman Singh has warned farmer leaders not to make the mistake of waiting for the results of the inquiry.

The BJP MP from Kaiserganj stated once more that he was innocent and that he was targeted because he had made improvements to the wrestling selection procedure.
