The Yogi Aditynath government in Uttar Pradesh has decided to increase the grant given to farmers, particularly marginal and small farmers, under the 'Har Khet Ko Paani' scheme as part of its mission to improve farmers' conditions and double their income. The grant for medium deep tube well borings has been increased from Rs 75,000 to Rs 1.75 lakh.

Several amendments were made to the previous order related to medium deep tube wells and deep tube wells to provide water to every field under the Chief Minister Minor Irrigation Scheme (Mukhyamantri Laghu Sinchayi Yojana). The grant for deep tube well boring has also been increased from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 2.65 lakh. The 'Har Khet Ko Pani' scheme is one of the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana's components (PMKSY).

The amendments proposed by the UP government are meant to help small and marginal farmers. The water distribution system cost has been increased from Rs 10,000 to Rs 14,000. The fixed amount for separate electrification of tube wells, on the other hand, will remain at Rs 68,000.

Farmers in the general category will receive Rs 2.57 lakh for the installation of tube wells, up from Rs 1.53 lakh previously. Farmers in the Scheduled Caste-Tribe category will also receive a grant of Rs 3.85 lakhs for the mandatory installation of a solar-powered pump with a 5-horsepower capacity on their tube wells. Farmers from the Scheduled Caste category will receive a maximum grant of Rs 5.74 lakh for tube well borings, up from Rs 4.70 lakh for medium deep tube well borings.

The grant for tube wells has been increased from Rs 1.78 lakh to Rs 3.47 lakh for general category farmers, while the grant for tube well electrification has remained unchanged at Rs 68,000.

Farmers in the scheduled caste category will receive a maximum grant of Rs 6.64 lakh for deep tube well borings, up from Rs 4.95 lakh previously. Solar pumps will be purchased through UPNEDA and its registered vendors, as well as the Gem portal.
