UP Budget 2023- Government Announces Rs 20 Crore For Agriculture Accelerator Fund

Yogi Adityanath led UP government on Wednesday projected the state budget of Rs 3600 crore in a Vidhan Sabha session, mainly focusing on the youth, agriculture, and much more.

This is the second budget presented by the Yogi Adityanath government and the seventh overall budget since the UP chief minister took charge of the office.

Suresh Khanna, the Finance Minister of Uttar Pradesh, presented the state budget for the FY 2023-24, claiming a 16.8 percent increase in state GDP and a 4.2 percent employment rate. The Uttar Pradesh Budget 2023 included provisions for a start-up policy, women empowerment, farmer empowerment, health infrastructure, and road and rail projects.

According to Suresh Khanna's budget speech, the growth rate for Uttar Pradesh is predicted to be 19% for 2023–2024. "The state's unemployment rate was 14.4 percent before 2017, and it is now somewhere around 4.2 percent," he stated.

Following that Khanna mentioned that under Swami Vivekananda Empowerment Scheme, students will receive tablets and smartphones.

Furthermore, to encourage young entrepreneurs to launch agri-tech startups in rural areas, that budget of Rs 20 crore has been allocated for the Agricultural Accelerator Fund.

Khanna mentions a provision in the Workers' Death and Disability Assistance Program to offer help in the amounts of Rs. 5 lakhs in the event of a worker's death in the line of duty, Rs. 4 lakhs in the event of a permanent disability, and Rs. 3 lakhs in the event of a partial impairment.

Khanna announced a Rs 7248 crore proposal for old age/farmers pension schemes and Rs 1120 crore for the Divyang pension scheme in his Budget speech.

The government has also proposed a budget of Rs 21159 crore for the development of roads and bridges, with a budget of Rs 6209 crore proposed for the maintenance of existing ones.

Adityanath referred to the state budget as the "Budget of new Uttar Pradesh" before it was presented to the Assembly today and claimed it will add "golden chapters" to the state's history of social, economic, and cultural advancement.

"New golden chapters in the history of the social, economic, and cultural development of the state will be added by the budget of 'New Uttar Pradesh,' which is going to be presented today in the first year of 'Amrit Kal' after Independence. According to the revered Prime Minister's vision, this Budget will unquestionably serve the interests of every segment of society, including the state's women, youth, farmers, and villagers", Adityanath stated.
