Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary initiative, women self-help groups will benefit from an 85% subsidy on farm drones. This strategic move aims to empower women by providing them with training on using this cutting-edge technology, enabling them to make substantial contributions to the agriculture sector.
To enhance women's empowerment in agriculture, Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Shekhawat announced that women self-help groups (SHGs) will receive an 85% subsidy on farm drones. The minister highlighted this novel initiative during public gatherings at Jajjal and Sandoha villages in Bathinda district as part of the Centre's Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra.
Shekhawat emphasized that the introduction of drone technology in the agricultural sector would contribute to reducing input costs, particularly in the spraying of farm chemicals and seed sowing. This new-age technology is poised to usher in a green revolution in Punjab by alleviating the chemical load on soil.
