This clinic will be staffed by Legal Services Institutions' trained Para Legal Volunteers (PLV), who will educate and raise legal awareness among farmers.
The TS Legal Services Authority (TSLSA), in collaboration with the Nalsar University of Law, is all set to open the first-ever Agri Legal Aid Clinic in Telangana in Bammera village, Palakurthy Mandal, Nalgonda district.
It will educate and raise legal awareness among farmers about various agricultural laws as well as farmer-beneficial and welfare schemes aimed at their overall well-being.
This clinic will be staffed by Legal Services Institutions' trained Para Legal Volunteers (PLV), who will educate and raise legal awareness among farmers.
Supreme Court Justice V. Ramasubramanian will virtually inaugurate the clinic in the presence of Supreme Court Justices P.S. Narasimha and P.V. Sanjay Kumar, as well as Telangana High Court Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan, the TSLSA's patron-in-chief, and High Court Justice P. Naveen Rao.
According to a TSLSA media statement, cultivation is proceeding smoothly and farmers can earn better returns from the agriculture and allied sectors if they understand the scope of the legislation and the benefits of the schemes and use them to address their cultivation-related problems.
It stated that there are numerous laws, schemes, programmes, and plans in place to benefit and protect farmers. Agricultural legislation is enacted to protect and safeguard the interests of farmers. Several welfare schemes and programmes for farmers' benefit and welfare are also being implemented in the state to revitalise the agriculture sector and improve farmers' overall conditions.
However, due to a lack of legal awareness and understanding, the benefits of these initiatives and schemes have not reached the majority of the farming community as intended.
