The 2 Millionth Tractor From Swaraj Tractors Deployed From The Mohali Plant

On September 6, 2022, Swaraj Tractors, a subsidiary of the Mahindra Group, delivered its 20th lakh tractor from the Mohali plant in Punjab.

The company was founded in 1974 and took 39 years to produce its first 10 lakh tractors in 2013; the subsequent 10 lakh tractors were produced in less than 9 years. According to the company, what makes this achievement even more remarkable is that it came at a time when the industry was facing unexpected challenges due to the pandemic in a previous couple of years.

"This achievement has further cemented brand Swaraj's reputation of being reliable and one of the fastest growing brands in the domestic tractor market over the past few years," said Harish Chavan, CEO, Swaraj Division, M&M. “We are grateful to all of our customers and stakeholders for their unwavering commitment to the growth of this brand."

"Since its inception in 1974, the first milestone of 10 lakh tractor production was achieved in 2013," he continued. “We have now achieved 20 lakh tractor productions in 2022 in just nine years, demonstrating the faster growth of the Swaraj brand.”

Swaraj currently manufactures tractors ranging in power from 15 to 65 horsepower and offers complete mechanization solutions. It had two fully operational tractor manufacturing plants in Punjab, as well as its foundry and R&D, and another Swaraj manufacturing plant is on the way.
