Telangana Agriculture Minister Seeks US Collaboration for Technological Advancements
During his US tour, State Agriculture Minister Singireddy Niranjan Reddy engaged in talks with USDA representatives and met NIFA director Manjit Mishra to explore cooperation in IT, farm economics, seed tech, and more.
During his third day of the US tour, State Agriculture Minister Singireddy Niranjan Reddy engaged in discussions with USDA representatives, emphasizing the importance of cooperation between Telangana and the United States in various crucial areas. The meeting took place at the National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) in Washington, DC, where Reddy met with NIFA Director Manjit Mishra to explore collaborative opportunities.
Expressing the government's eagerness for cooperation, Minister Reddy expressed the desire to empower Telangana farmers with advanced technology. He emphasized that it is their collective responsibility to ensure that future generations are equipped with the latest agricultural advancements and invest in the agricultural and allied sectors.
During the meeting, Minister Reddy shared insights into the remarkable progress witnessed in Telangana's agricultural sector over the past nine years under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR).

He highlighted the sector's pivotal role in generating employment opportunities, emphasizing the government's unwavering support for farmers through pro-agricultural policies. Minister Reddy emphasized the transformative impact of these policies, stating that Telangana's agriculture sector has transitioned from a state of crisis, experienced during the united Andhra Pradesh regime, to a thriving sector with substantial production outputs, showing gratitude to the government's steadfast support.
Furthermore, Minister Reddy provided an overview of various schemes and initiatives implemented by the government to boost the agricultural landscape. Notable programs like Rythu Bandhu, aimed at providing crop investment assistance to farmers, and Rythu Bheema, offering insurance coverage for farmers' families, were highlighted as significant steps towards farmer welfare.

The minister spotlighted the success of initiatives like Mission Kakatiya, which focuses on the desilting of lakes and ponds and the construction of new water reservoirs. He said that these efforts have played a crucial role in reviving water resources and enhancing agricultural productivity in the state.
