During a recent grievance redressal meeting for sugarcane farmers, Ramanathapuram Collector B. Vishnu Chandran addressed the concerns raised by farmers who were seeking loans of up to ₹3 lakh from cooperative societies, a practice already in place in neighboring districts.

Scheduled for September 22, 2023, at 10:30 AM, the farmer's grievance meeting at the Collectorate will provide a platform for farmers and their association representatives to voice their agriculture-related queries and issues.

Historically, sugarcane farmers in Paramakudi and Kamudi taluks cultivated their crops across 2,500 acres of land. However, they faced challenges in financing their sugarcane cultivation. The farmers believed that direct financial support from cooperative societies would greatly alleviate their financial burdens.
