TAFE Introduces TAFE Terra Smart Farming Solution, Showcases H2ICE Concept at Agritechnica 2023
TAFE breaks new ground with the debut of an electric tractor and hydrogen concept at Agritechnica 2023 in Hanover, Germany. The company is presenting a variety of innovative offerings like utility tractors featuring HVAC cabins and intelligent agricultural solutions.
Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited (TAFE) is making significant progress in the European market with the introduction of a new electric tractor and a concept hydrogen tractor at Agritechnica 2023 in Hanover, Germany.
The company is also showcasing a range of other innovative products, including advanced utility tractors with HVAC cabins and smart farming solutions.
TAFE is committed to meeting the evolving needs of progressive farmers through compact, utilitarian, and innovative tractors. The company's engineering teams are actively exploring various fuel technologies for future tractors, one of which is Dimethyl Ether (DME).
The electric tractor boasts a 20 kW power, efficient transmission, low-noise powertrain, and a high-efficiency electric motor exceeding 90%. It also features a fast-charging capability fully compatible with the European Combined Charging System (CCS2). The company highlights the tractor's suitability for various applications, including use by municipalities, logistics, material handling businesses, and agriculture.

TAFE has also introduced the TAFE Terra smart farming solution, encompassing an integrated smart agriculture ecosystem offering multiple precision farming solutions. The e-tractor technology was primarily developed at TAFE's UK engineering base, while the Hydrogen technology originated in India. This includes a GPS-based automatic steering system, telematics gateway, management information system, and a smart TFT display cluster.
The Utility Range, represented by TAFE 7515, features a 74 hp, 3-cylinder engine equipped with a 12-speed Synchromesh Mechanical Shuttle transmission. This range is versatile and can be paired with various implements like seed drills, rotary tillers, sprayers, spreaders, loading wagons, and trailers.
Additionally, TAFE launched the Compact Range, featuring models such as TAFE 6028 M (24 hp), TAFE 6028 H (24 hp), and TAFE 6020 M (18 hp), all Euro Stage 5 Compliant. These adaptable tractors are suitable for both farming and industrial tasks, offering adjustable speeds, and ideal for applications like front loaders and snow plows.
