The Bihar government is implementing the Agricultural Mechanization Scheme in the state to modernize the agricultural sector. Farmers are being subsidized for equipment such as weeding, irrigation, harvesting, threshing, and storage under this mechanization scheme.

The Bihar government is currently processing applications for agricultural machinery subsidies. Interested farmers in the state can take advantage of the scheme by submitting an online application on the Bihar Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department's official website until December 31, 2022.

Individual farmers in Bihar will receive 40 to 80 percent subsidies on a total of 90 types of agricultural machinery under the Bihar Krishi YantriKaran Yojana.

Under this scheme, the Bihar Agriculture Department provides farmers with paddy transplanter (rice transplanter) machines at half the cost. To apply for a subsidy on the purchase of a paddy transplanter machine, visit the website Online Farm Mechanization Application Software (OFMAS).

The scheme provides for a subsidy of up to 50%, or up to Rs. 2 lakh 25 thousand, on an automatic paddy transplanter. At the same time, there is a provision for a grant of up to Rs 1,20,000 on a 4-row automatic paddy transplanter machine to general category farmers, with a 40% subsidy. Farmers will benefit from the scheme on a first-come, first-served basis; farmers who apply first will be given priority.

Online registration requires a registration number

Farmers must have a registration number in advance to apply online through the Bihar Agriculture Department's official portal. Farmers who do not have a registration number can obtain one by first registering on the Bihar Agriculture Department's DBT website https://dbtagriculture.bihar.gov.in/. Following that, you can register online to take advantage of the subsidy on the purchase of agricultural machinery by visiting the official Bihar Agriculture portal at http://farmech.bih.nic.in.

Documents needed for the online application

The Bihar Agricultural Mechanization Scheme provides a 50% subsidy on automatic paddy transplanter machines. Farmers must apply online to purchase it on a subsidy.

  • To apply, the farmer must be at least 18 years old.
  • The scheme is only open to permanent residents of the state.
  • To apply, the farmer must have his land for cultivation.
  • An Aadhaar card, PAN card, caste certificate, residence certificate, valid RC of the tractor, bank account passbook, passport-size photo, a mobile number linked to the Aadhaar card and bank account, and current revenue receipt are also required.
