Punjab Launches Agricultural Projects Worth Rs 3,000 Crore under AIF Scheme
The investments garnered through the AIF scheme will play a pivotal role in strengthening Punjab's agricultural infrastructure, facilitating better post-harvest management, and improving value addition. It will contribute to the overall growth and prosperity of the agriculture sector, benefitting farmers and the state's economy as a whole.

The Department of Horticulture recently organized the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF) conclave at MGSIPA, Sector 26, Chandigarh, to celebrate the achievements and advancements made by Punjab during the last financial year (2022-23). The event also aimed to acknowledge the valuable contributions made by both the government and private sector stakeholders in promoting the AIF scheme within the state.
Minister for Horticulture, Chetan Singh Jouramajra, highlighted the significant progress Punjab has made under the AIF scheme. In the past financial year, the state successfully attracted investments worth over Rs 2,877 crore for 3,480 projects. Furthermore, lending institutions have already sanctioned loans amounting to Rs 720 crore, with Rs 591 crore already disbursed to deserving beneficiaries.
Recent figures indicate that Punjab has witnessed tremendous interest and participation in the AIF scheme, with over 5,500 applications uploaded on the AIF portal. These applications have collectively attracted investments totaling Rs 3,300 crore, reflecting the confidence and enthusiasm of stakeholders in the agricultural sector.

The Agriculture Infrastructure Fund has proven to be a vital catalyst in driving infrastructure development and modernization in the agricultural landscape of Punjab. The scheme's objectives of enhancing storage, processing, and marketing facilities have gained substantial momentum, thanks to the active participation and support from both the government and private sector entities.
