Proposal Submitted by NRRI to CVRC for Identification of 10 Latest Rice Varieties
A proposal by National Rice Research Institute was sent to Central Varietal Release Committee for the identification of 10 rice varieties. Trilochan Mohapatra to address a foundation lecture on Sunday.

Recently a proposal was submitted by National Rice Research Institute (NRRI) to Central Varietal Release Committee (CVRC) for identifying the 10 latest rice varieties.
A K Nayak institute’s director said that earlier 7 rice varieties had been already recognized by CVRC in the past year.
Indeed there will be celebrations for foundation day where top authorities will be also present. The institute will be celebrating their 78th foundation day truly. Also the foundation day lecture has been entitled after its first director ,K Ramiah. He has played a major role in establishing this institute in Cuttack in 1946.
Nayak also added that K Ramiah’s son R Pancharatnam will be donating 50 Lac to this institute for endowment lecture. NRRI Director also told that “there institute has been granted patent for a method for albino free shoot regeneration in rice through another culture.”
On Sunday Former NRRI director and Department of Agricultural Research and Education’s former secretary Trilochan Mohapatra who is now chairperson of Protection of Plant Varieties will be a top guest to address on the foundation day.
