Organic farming is a method of agriculture that relies on sustainable and natural farming practices. It is a holistic approach to farming that considers the health of the soil, the plants, the animals, and the environment as a whole. Organic farmers avoid the use of synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, and genetically modified organisms, and instead use natural methods to enhance soil fertility and control pests and diseases.
Organic farming typically involves practices such as crop rotation, cover cropping, and composting to improve soil health and promote biodiversity. It also emphasizes the use of natural pest management techniques such as companion planting, biological control, and crop diversity to control pests and diseases without the use of chemical pesticides.
Organic farming is often seen as a more sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative to conventional farming methods. It can help to reduce soil erosion, improve water quality, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Additionally, organic farming practices are often better for the health of farmers and consumers, as they reduce exposure to potentially harmful chemicals.
