Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar cited government efforts to aid small farmers and promote innovation in food production.

In a resounding call to action, President Droupadi Murmu urged the need for building resilient agri-food systems to address the challenges posed by climate change while prioritizing the well-being of humanity. Her remarks came during the inauguration of the event titled, "From Research to Impact: Towards Just and Resilient Agri-Food Systems," held in New Delhi.

President Murmu underscored the fundamental importance of foodgrain for human survival and stressed the significance of the event's theme, emphasizing that the world cannot thrive without secure access to food. Furthermore, she advocated for increasing women's participation in decision-making processes within the agricultural sector to enhance equity and resilience.

India has been witnessing a transformative shift as an increasing number of women entrepreneurs play pivotal roles in shaping the agricultural food system. The President celebrated their contributions, emphasizing that such participation leads to greater resilience and equity within the sector.

President Murmu also highlighted the critical role of biodiversity and ecology in sustainable agriculture. She urged a shift in consumption patterns and the diversification of diets, underlining their importance in improving the well-being of people.

Innovative techniques and an increase in women's participation have played instrumental roles in supplementing the agricultural food system's development.
