Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik Disburses Rs 2,000 Crore to 4.4 Million Farmers Under KALIA Scheme

In a momentous occasion marking the celebration of Nuakhai, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik displayed his unwavering commitment to the welfare of the state's farmers by disbursing financial assistance worth Rs 2,000 crore to 4.4 million farmer families. The distribution was carried out under the flagship "KALIA" (Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation) Scheme to support farmers for the upcoming Rabi Crop season.
In a press statement from the Chief Minister's Office, it was disclosed that the financial assistance was provided to a total of 4,406,750 farmer families, which includes 4,288,000 small and marginal farmers and an additional 68,750 landless farmers. The financial aid aims to bolster the agricultural sector in the state and enhance the livelihoods of farmers who form the backbone of Odisha's economy.
Chief Minister Patnaik, extending his heartfelt Nuakhai greetings to all those present at the function, expressed his deep admiration for the farming community, stating, "Farmers are our pride." He emphasized the importance of ensuring that farmers in the state lead lives filled with respect and dignity, emphasizing their role as crucial partners in the state's development.

Under the progressive "KALIA Yojana," the state government has thus far extended financial assistance totaling an impressive Rs 12,500 crore to farmers in Odisha. In addition to direct financial aid, the state government is also dedicated to the educational well-being of farmer families. As part of the KALIA scheme, scholarships are being provided to the children of farmers who are beneficiaries of the program, ensuring that their education is not compromised due to financial constraints.
