Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, initiated the cross-country journey of Bharat Kisan Yatra on December 6, following his participation in the concluding session of the Millionaire Farmer of India Awards.

Gadkari's Call for Agricultural Economy Optimization

During the event, Nitin Gadkari emphasized the need for farmers to reconsider their per-acre expenses to secure fair prices for their crops. His insights aimed to guide farmers towards economic sustainability.

Gadkari pointed out that while wheat and rice production in India is commendable, the pricing of these staples hasn't kept pace with the rising costs of fertilizers, insecticides, cement, and steel over the past 15 years. He emphasized the disproportionate increase in input costs compared to the prices of wheat and rice, indicating an imbalance that needs attention in the agricultural sector.
