In a groundbreaking move at SITEVI 2023, New Holland is set to revolutionize the vineyard tractor experience with the introduction of its Comfort Ride cab suspension system. Specifically tailored for T4V and T4N vineyard tractors, this innovative system brings unparalleled comfort, reducing vibrations by 15% in the field and an impressive 60% on the road.

The Comfort Ride cab suspension, already a success in higher-powered New Holland tractors, underwent meticulous adaptation to accommodate the narrower dimensions of vineyards. Patented and hailed by drivers, this suspension system is poised to enhance operator health and productivity, setting a new standard in the vineyard tractor industry.

Designed to counteract all major sources of vibration, including mechanical factors, travel speed, ground impacts, implement forces, and tire impacts, Comfort Ride integrates multiple components. These include the tractor’s front axle suspension, rear hitch suspension, air seat suspension, and a progressive engagement system for PTO-driven implements.

As farms grow in size, mechanization increases and cultivation techniques evolve, the hours spent behind the wheel of vineyard tractors also rise. Acknowledging the challenges posed by persistent vibrations, Comfort Ride becomes a crucial solution. The system addresses operator comfort by cushioning vertical movements with hydraulic shock absorbers, limiting lateral movements with a Panhard bar, and managing height and limiting forward and backward movement with a pneumatic cushion.

To ensure all specialty tractor drivers benefit, regardless of size constraints, New Holland has extended the Comfort Ride suspension system to T4V and T4N vineyard tractors with an overall width of up to 1.06m. The suspension features a combination of a Panhard bar, hydraulic shock absorbers, and a pneumatic cushion, cleverly integrated without affecting the tractor's width.

The flexibility of the suspension allows adjustments based on the driver's weight, with a gauge at the rear of the cab providing visibility into optimal adjustment. This customization ensures that operators experience maximum comfort tailored to their specific needs.

New Holland aims to make the Comfort Ride suspension available on all New Holland T4 specialty tractors, including the F and LP versions, by the end of 2024, signaling a new era of comfort and efficiency for vineyard operators.
