In a remarkable achievement, New Holland has once again proven its prowess in agricultural innovation as two of its cutting-edge tractors, the T6.180 Methane Power and the T7.300 Long Wheelbase with PLM Intelligence, have been selected as winners of the 2024 ASABE AE50 awards by the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers.
This marks the 13th time in the past six years that New Holland has been honored with this prestigious recognition, solidifying its commitment to pushing the boundaries of what's possible in agriculture. The ASABE AE50 awards are a testament to groundbreaking product advancements within the realms of agriculture, food, and biological systems, celebrating the 50 most pioneering products introduced to the market each year.
The T6.180 Methane Power tractor takes center stage as the world's first methane-powered tractor, designed with a focus on minimizing emissions while maximizing profitability and productivity. This revolutionary tractor matches the performance of its diesel equivalent in terms of power, torque, and durability. However, it boasts an estimated 30% reduction in running costs, offering fuel flexibility by running on either compressed biomethane or compressed natural gas (CNG). As a key element in New Holland's Energy Independent Farm concept, the T6 Methane Power tractor completes the loop of a true circular economy, presenting a carbon-negative footprint by utilizing agricultural waste to generate biomethane fuel.
Carlo Lambro, the brand president of New Holland, expressed his gratitude for the prestigious AE50 awards, emphasizing that this recognition represents the culmination of countless hours of research, innovation, and hard work. Lambro sees the award as a symbol of the company's commitment to farmers and a promise to continue innovating in the agricultural sector.
The T7.300 Long Wheelbase with PLM Intelligence tractor is another standout winner, featuring an enhanced FPT Industrial NEF 6 engine that delivers up to 300 maximum horsepower for various agricultural tasks. With advanced connectivity packages, operators have access to the latest precision tools, remote support, and data management capabilities within the cab. The inclusion of the Electronic Variable Geometry Turbo ensures improved torque, increased power, and enhanced fuel efficiency, making this tractor a reliable and efficient choice for farmers.
Both the T6.180 Methane Power tractor and the T7.300 Long Wheelbase with PLM Intelligence will be officially recognized in the January/February 2024 issue of ASABE's Resource magazine. The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place at the virtual ASABE Agricultural Equipment Technology Conference from February 11-14, 2024, in Louisville, Kentucky. New Holland's commitment to sustainable and innovative agriculture continues to be a driving force in the industry, setting new standards for excellence and environmental stewardship.
