New Holland Launches Project Saksham to Empower Rural Youth in Agriculture in These States

New Holland, a major agricultural equipment company, has launched a new program called Project Saksham. This initiative aims to help young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in rural areas of India. The program aligns with both the National Skill Development Mission and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on creating a skilled workforce.

Project Saksham partners with SEEDS, a social development organization, to train young adults aged 18 and above who have completed high school. The program is currently available in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, and Maharashtra.

Sandeep Gupta, a director at New Holland, emphasizes the program's commitment to equipping young people with relevant skills for the modern world. He highlights how Project Saksham aims to empower participants by providing them with the necessary skills to secure promising job opportunities, ultimately contributing positively to the Indian economy. The comprehensive training covers various aspects of Automotive Sales Assistant roles, including theoretical and practical components and providing knowledge on agriculture.

The training program also equips automotive sales assistants with everything from generating leads and closing sales to effective communication, teamwork, and providing customer support, both during and after the sale.

Project Saksham uses a mixed learning approach, starting with a boot camp in Samalkha, Haryana, covering theoretical knowledge, product information, and essential soft skills. This intensive training is followed by a three-month practical experience at dealerships, allowing participants to apply their learned skills in a real-world setting.
