New Farm Machinery Subsidies

One of the main reasons for the booming agriculture in developed nations is the large availability of farm machinery. One of the main reasons for the booming agriculture in developed nations is the large availability of farm machinery. All their farms function with little manpower and labor while maximizing the use of farm implements. By doing that, the efficiency is automatically enhanced and therefore they are able to produce as many quality products as they do. When we look at our country, India still employs a large amount of labor in the fields. While this provides an excellent source of income for the ever-growing population, it still does not give us the large production quantities that we're hoping for.

While one might argue that this is in effect the reason we're a developing nation; all of these arguments still do not provide us with a much-needed solution. How can we help our farmers improve their productivity in the fields? How can we help them improve their lives and help remove the image of a long-suffering farmer from our media houses? When will we be able to rightfully thank and aid the farmers for supporting the economy of the nation?

To this effect, the government has tried to introduce a lot of farmer-friendly schemes. The latest is that the Indian government is subsidizing the acquisition of specialized self-propelled machines for eligible beneficiaries under its Sub-mission on Agriculture Mechanization to minimize drudgery and assist farmers conduct field chores more efficiently (SMAM). Crop reapers, post-hole diggers/augers, and pneumatic/other planters are all eligible for subsidies.

The Indian government's department of agriculture, cooperation, and farmers' welfare (DACFW) is providing the subsidy through its mechanization and technology (MT) division through direct benefit transfer (DBT).

Different kinds of beneficiaries are eligible for subsidies ranging from 40 to 50 percent of the total cost. Women, small and marginal farmers, and those belonging to the SC, ST, and Northeast receive a subsidy of up to 50% of the tractor's total cost.

This initiative will help our long-suffering farmers gain a slight advantage. Employing farm implements at a subsidy might help farmers take the necessary action in order to increase productivity.
