Nagaland: Pfuchatsumia Khel Receives Tractor and Power Tillers for Agricultural Advancement
The program, chaired by EAC & VAC Convener Dr. Riku Khutso, saw the participation of 10 departments committed to the welfare of Pfuchatsumia Khel. Dr. Khutso sought the support and cooperation of the P Khel Council for the seamless execution of the project.
In a significant stride towards community development, the kick-off program for the adoption of Pfuchatsumia Khel in Kohima Village under the Village Adoption Committee (VAC) took place at P Khel Council Hall on Sunday. The event was marked by the ceremonial handing over of farm machinery aimed at bolstering agricultural activities in the region.
Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome, Advisor of School Education & SCERT, delivered an address expressing optimism about the collaborative efforts of the departments involved in the VAC. He emphasized the need for cohesion between the VAC and P Khel Council, envisioning a broader impact on the entire Kohima village once the initiative proves successful in Pfuchatsumia Khel. Commending the P Khel Council for prioritizing communal development over individual interests, Dr. Yhome handed over agricultural machinery, including a tractor, three power tillers, and two grass cutters, to the P Khel Council.

He disclosed that, in collaboration with the council, an action plan would be devised to guide the various activities to be undertaken by the participating departments.
District Project Officer of the Department of Land Resource, Dr. Menuosietuo Tseikha, shed light on the purpose of village adoption and outlined the projects available under the department. P. Khel Council Chairman Kelhousietuo Rutsa, in his welcome address, expressed gratitude to Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome for selecting Pfuchatsumia Khel as the inaugural focus of the VAC in Kohima Village. Rutsa commended the advisor for facilitating the transfer of agricultural machinery through the Rural Development department to aid in the development of Pfuchatsumia Khel.
The VAC comprises representatives from various departments, including Kohima Municipal Council, PHED (Urban), Chief Veterinary Officer, DIC Kohima, Department of Social Welfare, and BDO Kohima. During the event, these departments presented their activity plans, assuring full support for the implementation of centrally sponsored and state government schemes in Pfuchatsumia Khel.
Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Societies from the Department of Cooperation, Rokovisa Chase, delivered the vote of thanks and highlighted the activities of the department. The event concluded on a positive note, setting the stage for collaborative efforts to bring about holistic development in Pfuchatsumia Khel and potentially serve as a model for other areas in Kohima Village.
