The Mohali administration,is taking proactive steps to promote crop residue management and reduce stubble burning in the district. The administration has deployed 1,098 machines, including 184 surface seeders for use with small tractors. These machines will help farmers manage crop residue without burning and sow wheat crops more efficiently.

The newly introduced surface seeder machine is also promising farm machinery for managing crop residue. It is designed to sow wheat seeds directly into the soil without plowing the stubble. This approach can help to reduce soil erosion and improve soil health.

Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain recently interacted with farmers using these machines and learned about their experiences. She commended the efforts of Sanpreet Singh, a mechanical engineer from Deh Kalan Nabipur village, who has successfully used machines to manage crop residue on his 60-acre farm.
