Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.’s Farm Equipment Business (FEB), a key arm of the Mahindra Group, released its tractor sales data for May 2025 on June 1. The company recorded domestic sales of 38,914 units during the month, marking a 10% rise compared to 35,237 units sold in May 2024.
The combined sales, including both domestic and exports, reached 40,643 units in May 2025, up from 37,109 units during the same period last year. Export sales for May 2025 were reported at 1,729 units.
Veejay Nakra, President of the Farm Equipment Business at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., highlighted that the strong growth in domestic tractor sales reflects positive rural sentiment. He added that the early onset of an above-normal Southwest monsoon is expected to support kharif sowing activities. Additionally, ongoing land preparation for paddy cultivation and the recent government approval for an increase in Minimum Support Prices (MSP) for paddy and other kharif crops are likely to boost farmer morale.
He further emphasized that higher reservoir levels, the government's announcement of record foodgrain production, and the implementation of various agricultural schemes will support enhanced productivity among farmers. These developments are anticipated to contribute positively to tractor demand in the coming months.
