Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (M&M Ltd) has introduced a new wheel harvester under its Swaraj brand in the Indian market. This move aims to aggressively tap into the growing farm mechanization sector in the country. The launch of the 'Swaraj 8200 Wheel Harvester' reflects the brand's ambition to secure a 15-20% market share in the long run within the wheel harvester segment.
Harish Chavan, CEO of Swaraj Division, shared that the new wheel harvester was manufactured at the company's newly established farm machinery facility in Pithampur near Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The product is set to be available for customers through the brand's dealerships across India, starting from the upcoming crop season.
Chavan highlighted that although mechanization in the harvesting space is still evolving in India, there's a clear growth trajectory. He emphasized the brand's intention to capitalize on this opportunity and draw parallels with its active participation in the tractor segment.
