Maha Agri Minister Abdul Sattar Directs the Officials to Ensure Farmers Get seeds, Fertilizer, & Crop Loans on Time

By streamlining the distribution of seeds, fertilizers, and loans, and providing compensation for weather-related damages, the government aims to enhance agricultural productivity and mitigate the challenges faced by farmers in the Konkan division.

Abdul Sattar, the Agriculture Minister of Maharashtra, has instructed officials from the Konkan division to guarantee the timely distribution of seeds, fertilizers, and crop loans to farmers. The minister emphasized this during a review meeting with the Konkan division officials in preparation for the upcoming Kharif season.

Minister Sattar urged the officials to ensure that government benefits and schemes reach the farmers directly at their doorsteps. He further emphasized the importance of studying the geographical conditions of the region and devising a suitable Kharif program accordingly. Special efforts should be made to expand the cultivation of mango, cashew, and paddy in the area.

The minister also stressed the need to provide compensation to farmers affected by unseasonal rains. This is a crucial measure to support those who have suffered losses due to adverse weather conditions.

Rajendra Bhosle, the acting Divisional Commissioner, informed the meeting that 4,29,000 hectares of land have been allocated for the Kharif season. The officials have set a production target of 11,61,000 metric tonnes, anticipating an average increase of 22 per cent.

The directive from Minister Abdul Sattar highlights the government's commitment to supporting farmers and ensuring their access to essential resources.
