Kashmir- Director Of Agriculture Visits Tangmarg Division

Chowdhury Mohammad Iqbal, the Director of Agriculture in Kashmir, visited Tangmarg Sub-Division in Baramulla district to assess the current agriculture situation. He inaugurated a state-of-the-art polyhouse and conducted an inspection of various oilseed areas in the sub-division during his visit.
During the event, the Director expressed contentment with the oilseed (Mustard) crop condition in the Sub-Division. He instructed the officers and officials to guide the farmers for their pre-and post-harvest operations.
According to Chowdhury, the department is developing a blueprint to encourage commercial oilseed (mustard) cultivation in the valley.
He emphasized that the region has significant potential for oilseed cultivation, and tapping into this potential could result in successful socio-economic transformation for the farming community.
Previously, the Director had engaged with delegations of farmers at multiple locations and advised them to comply with the guidance provided by relevant officers and officials during their agricultural activities.
