Jammu & Kashmir: Kissan Council President To Promote Agri Startups
J&K Kissan Advisory Board, emphasized the importance of encouraging agriculture and horticulture startups in the union territory of J&K on March 17 to combat the rising youth unemployment rate.
Tejinder Singh, president of the J&K Kissan Council and a member of the J&K Kissan Advisory Board, emphasized the importance of encouraging agriculture and horticulture startups in the union territory of J&K on March 17 to combat the rising youth unemployment rate.
Singh stated in a statement that rural youth should be educated about startups in agriculture and horticulture that can boost their economy, and that they should not hanker for pity government jobs. He stated that the government should hold workshops and seminars across the UT to educate youth about startups to create a sustainable economy.
He did, however, express happiness that the recently announced budget for J&K by the Union Finance Minister has given small and marginal farmers new hope.
He said that this year's budget included an increase of Rs. 1239.45 crores for agriculture and an increase of Rs. 267 crores each for animal husbandry, sheep farming, and fisheries, all of which will undoubtedly help these industries.
He stated that LG Manoj Sinha has fulfilled his promise of allocating Rs 900 crore funds for the Holistic Agriculture Policy and Rs 120 crore for crop insurance, which are steps to ensure agricultural sustainability.
