IoTechWorld Avigation Partners with Swiss Firm Pix4D for Precision Farming Solutions

IoTechWorld and Pix4D recently organized a workshop on crop health monitoring using drones, led by Cody Sokkappa of Pix4D Japan. The event attracted approximately 70 attendees, primarily consisting of scientists from government institutions.

IoTechWorld Avigation, a drone manufacturer, has recently partnered with Pix4D, a Swiss company specializing in photogrammetry software technology, to jointly provide precision farming solutions in the country. This collaboration aims to raise awareness about drone-enabled crop health monitoring during an agricultural drone revolution in the country, according to Deepak Bhardwaj, Co-Founder and Director of IoTechWorld Avigation.

Anoop Upadhyay, Co-Founder and Director of IoTechWorld Avigation emphasized the initial objective of the partnership, which involves creating awareness among industry professionals, researchers, academia, and eventually farmers.

Mitul Arora, Business Development Lead for India & South Asia at Pix4D, explained the rationale behind the collaboration. IoTechWorld possesses drone technology and multi-spectral sensors called Sequoia, and now they will incorporate Pix4D's photogrammetry technology. This partnership aims to provide a comprehensive one-stop solution for various stakeholders, including government research institutes, crop insurance providers, and specialized tasks.

IoTechWorld noted that India's agriculture sector is rapidly adopting technology, presenting significant opportunities for deeper integration of technology into various aspects of agriculture through this association.

Pix4D is known for its Pix4Dfields Software, a state-of-the-art solution tailored for advanced agricultural mapping. This software processes RGB and multispectral data for aerial crop analysis and digital farming. Pix4D has a presence in seven countries across multiple continents, meeting the needs of these regions and neighboring countries.

Together, IoTechWorld and Pix4D recently organized a workshop on crop health monitoring using drones, led by Cody Sokkappa of Pix4D Japan. The event attracted approximately 70 attendees, primarily consisting of scientists from government institutions. Additionally, researchers from renowned crop protection companies such as Syngenta and BASF also participated in the workshop.
