IMD Issues Rain & Thunderstorm Alerts in Various Parts of India

The IMD's alert is intended to caution people to take necessary measures to protect themselves and their property from the adverse effects of the thunderstorms and rain. The IMD issues weather forecasts and warnings for various regions in India.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a thunderstorm and rain alert for several regions across the country. Moderate-intensity rain and gusty winds with speeds of 50-70 Kmph are expected in the North, North-West, South, South-west, Central, North-East, and East regions of India.

 The IMD has predicted that thunderstorms with light to moderate intensity rain and gusty winds would occur over the adjoining areas of South-East Delhi, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Karnal, Rajaund, Assandh, Safidon, Panipat, Gangoh, Deoband, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Kandhla, Bijnaur, Khatauli, Sakoti Tanda, Hastinapur, Chandpur, Daurala, Meerut, Kithor, Amroha, & Moradabad.

Thunderstorms with light-intensity rain are expected over Rohtak, Deeg, Mathura, Raya, Kosli, Meham, Gohana, Hodal, and Hansi during the next two hours.

The unseasonal rains across the country have caused considerable damage to crops and also huge losses to farmers.
