IFFCO has organized a 10 day intensive training program for farmers on its FMDI campus

In partnership with WOW Go Green, co-op titan IFFCO has organized an intensive ten-day training program at its FMDI facility so that farmers can use drones in farming. The aim of the program was to create new entrepreneurs from the villages. IFFCO FMDI trains thousands of farmers and gardeners in various fields of agriculture. It is one of the best farmer training centers with more than 100 internships. It is often visited by IFFCO experts and scientists and other leading institutions such as ICAR.

A total of 36 participants including developing farmers, entrepreneurs, FPOs, Co-operatives etc. from different provinces were part of the training. This training was one of a kind in the country and was the first of its kind for farmers. The training was done by stimulators who gradually moved to smaller drones and eventually reached full agricultural drones.

During the 10 days the participants of the training program were provided with a complete classroom and practical training on aircraft aircraft operation, maintenance and its agricultural use.

Some of the key topics covered during this training program included

• applications and prospects for the future of Drones,
• DGCA Control,
• Civil Aviation,
• Basic Aviation Program,
• Airspace building and Airspace blockchain information -
• No drone Zones and Flight Arrangements. 

Other issues discussed were

• strategies to prevent Radio Telephony (RT) collision Common names,
• Payload installations, and usage etc.,
• Electronic speed control,
• flight controls and
• operation and use of drones.

The program was opened by Drs. US Awasthi, Executive Director, IFFCO. Speaking at the event, Dr Awasthi said the use of drones in agriculture was a step forward in modern agriculture. Not only will it reduce costs for farmers but it will also help increase crop production and crop quality. It will also produce entrepreneurs from the valleys so drone technology training will be of great help to farmers.

Yogendra Kumar, Marketing Director, IFFCO, a key figure in the entire training program said the program will provide a new way to move forward with the use of new agricultural technologies.

As Government plans to introduce a policy for the use of agricultural aircraft it is imperative that farmers be trained in the use of this technology so that this technology can be adopted as soon as it is officially announced. A 15-minute flight of Agri-drone can spray fertilizer on an area of ​​2.5 hectares.

Participants who have successfully trained using agri-drones are called "Green Pilots". The green pilots not only promised to use the technology on their farms but also to raise awareness and share their knowledge with other farmers in their regions, IFFCO media reported.

The IFFCO training program was appreciated by Sachin Kumar, Sub-Secretary, Government of India, Department of Agriculture (Department of Fertilizer) - while addressing green pilots during a visit to FMDI.

Rakesh Kapur, Managing Director, IFFCO, in his speech at the conclusion of the training program, said the business model prepared by IFFCO and WOW for entrepreneurs is an achievable model and has great potential for success.
