ICAR Indian Agricultural Research Institute and IIT Kanpur Join Forces to Boost Agricultural Start-ups

In a move aimed at promoting innovation and fostering the growth of agricultural start-ups, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was recently signed between Pusa Krishi, ICAR- Indian Agricultural Research Institute, and the Start-up Incubation & Innovation Centre (SIIC) at IIT Kanpur. The virtual signing ceremony featured Dr. Viswanathan Chinnusamy, Joint Director (Research) at IARI, and Professor Ankush Sharma from the Department of Electrical Engineering at SIIC IIT Kanpur.

This strategic collaboration is designed to offer essential support to incubators and start-ups, creating an enabling environment for these nascent businesses to flourish and contribute to the agriculture sector meaningfully. Both Pusa Krishi and SIIC IIT Kanpur have expressed their commitment to explore further partnerships, with the goal of driving progress and innovation in the agricultural domain.

Professor Ankush Sharma, in sharing his thoughts, emphasized that this partnership will promote innovative activities in the farming sector by harnessing the collective expertise and resources of both organizations.

Dr. Viswanathan Chinnusamy underlined the significance of research collaborations, highlighting the potential benefits they bring to start-ups and incubators within the agricultural space. He expressed his satisfaction in establishing this MoU with SIIC IIT Kanpur.
