Hyderabad-based Marut Drones has marked a significant milestone by becoming the first player in the market to receive the DGCA (Director General of Civil Aviation) type certification for both small and medium-category battery-operated drones. This achievement underscores the company's commitment to innovation and safety in the rapidly evolving field of drone technology.

Under the recently enacted Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) Rules-2021 in India, drones with Unique Identity Numbers (UIN) are the only ones permitted to operate in Indian airspace. DGCA certification is a stringent process that involves rigorous testing of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in NABL-accredited testing labs. These tests encompass various aspects, including material quality, environmental resilience, and operational reliability, ensuring safe and secure drone operations.

Marut Drones received certification approvals for its small category (less than 25kg) AG-365S multi-utility agricultural drone. This accolade is a testament to the drone's robust design and extensive testing. The DGCA's stamp of approval positions Marut Drones as a pioneer in the market, enabling the company to introduce its cutting-edge agricultural drone technology to users.

The agricultural sector in India has long been in need of innovative solutions to enhance productivity and efficiency. Marut Drones' founder, Prem Kumar Vislawath, emphasized the transformative potential of their drone technology in Indian agriculture.

He stated, "With both type certification and RTPO approvals by DGCA, manual operations can now be easily performed by drones. This not only drives efficiency but also creates new job opportunities, particularly in rural areas. A drone entrepreneur using this technology can earn anywhere between Rs 40,000 to Rs 90,000, enabling them to work from the comfort of their home while making a positive impact on farmers."

Marut Drones' achievement in securing DGCA-type certification not only opens up new possibilities in agriculture but also highlights the growing importance of drone technology in various sectors of the Indian economy. As drone applications continue to expand, Marut Drones' pioneering work sets a high standard for safety and innovation in the industry, potentially reshaping the way we approach agriculture and other fields in the years to come.
