Haryana Introduces Drone-Based Nano Urea Spraying at ₹100/acre, Know the Registration Process
Farmers registering on the 'Meri Fasal-Mera Byora' portal not only gain access to the drone-assisted spraying facility but also have the opportunity to apply for nano urea.
For modernizing agriculture the Haryana government has announced the introduction of drone-assisted spraying of nano urea in fields. This initiative aims to simplify the traditionally labour-intensive process of fertilizing crops, making it more efficient and accessible for farmers across the state.
Portal Registration and Farmer Participation
The key to unlocking this cutting-edge technology lies in the 'Meri Fasal-Mera Byora' portal, where farmers can register to benefit from the drone-assisted spraying of nano urea. As of August 2023, an impressive 8.87 lakh farmers had already registered for the Kharif crop, covering a vast expanse of over 60 lakh acres of land.
To participate in this initiative, farmers are required to pay a nominal fee of ₹100 per acre. Registration can be done conveniently through the 'Meri Fasal-Mera Byora' portal using a mobile device or at a common service centre.
Drones in Every District for Nano Urea Spraying
To make this revolutionary farming technique accessible to all, the Haryana government has assured that drones equipped for spraying nano urea will be available in every district. This widespread availability of drones aims to empower farmers by simplifying the process of applying nano urea, thereby enhancing overall agricultural productivity.

Applying for Nano Urea: A Simple Process
Farmers registering on the 'Meri Fasal-Mera Byora' portal not only gain access to the drone-assisted spraying facility but also have the opportunity to apply for nano urea. During the registration process, farmers need to submit their online applications for urea spraying through drones and deposit the nominal fee of ₹100 per acre.
Agriculture Department Takes the Lead
The Haryana Agriculture Department has taken up the responsibility of ensuring that this innovative scheme reaches as many farmers as possible. Officers from the department are actively disseminating information in every village, educating farmers about the benefits of urea spraying and the advantages of nano urea over traditional fertilizers.

Efficiency and Capacity of Drones
One of the highlights of this initiative is the efficiency and capacity of the drones involved. A single drone can carry up to 10 liters of liquid urea. This modern method of pesticide spraying not only saves time but also enhances precision in the application of fertilizers.
Enhanced Coverage for Farmers
With the assistance of drones, a farmer can cover an impressive 20 to 25 acres of land in a single day. This vast coverage significantly accelerates the fertilization process, allowing farmers to attend to larger areas of their fields with ease. The introduction of drone technology in agriculture is poised to bring about a paradigm shift in farming practices, making them more streamlined and efficient.
The introduction of drone-assisted spraying of nano urea marks a significant step towards a more technologically advanced and efficient agricultural landscape in Haryana. By leveraging modern technology, the state aims to empower its farmers, increase productivity, and contribute to the overall progress of the agricultural sector.
As farmers embrace this innovative approach, the Haryana government's commitment to supporting and enhancing farming practices becomes evident. The drone-assisted spraying of nano urea is not just a technological upgrade; it is a testament to the state's dedication to sustainable, efficient, and farmer-friendly agriculture.
