Haryana Govt Launches Upgraded E-Kshatipurti Portal for Flood-Affected Crops & Livestock
The upgraded e-kshatipurti portal is expected to serve as a lifeline for flood-affected farmers and livestock owners, providing them with the means to seek compensation for their losses promptly and efficiently. The Haryana government urges all eligible citizens to make full use of the portal before the application window closes on August 18.
In response to the recent floods that have wreaked havoc in Haryana, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar unveiled an upgraded version of the e-Kshatipurti portal. This enhanced online platform aims to facilitate the application process for people seeking compensation for damages caused by natural calamities like floods, with a particular focus on crops and livestock losses.
The upgraded e-kshatipurti portal is designed to streamline the submission of applications and bring greater transparency to the system of damage verification and compensation disbursement. Through this initiative, the state government aims to expedite the compensation process for affected citizens in a time-bound manner.
Chief Minister Khattar emphasized that this upgraded portal will serve as a crucial tool for mitigating the hardships faced by farmers and livestock owners due to the recent floods. The portal will be accessible to the public for uploading their loss claims until August 18. Once the verification process is completed, immediate compensation will be awarded to the affected individuals.

For rural areas, the portal includes provisions for villagers to share details about claims of damage to houses, livestock, and crops. Meanwhile, residents of urban areas can upload information about damages to commercial and movable or immovable properties.
Notably, the portal also caters to those who suffered losses or damages to their properties during the recent incidents of violence reported in Nuh district. The state government has promised to devise a special compensation scheme for such losses.
To ensure efficient assessment of damages, the portal includes new features that consider the recent floods' widespread impact on human life, houses, commercial properties, and livestock. Farmers and livestock owners can now register their claims for damages through the portal, specifying the type and number of livestock lost in the disaster. Additionally, for house damages, details like the type of house (Kaccha or Pucca) and the extent of damage must be provided on the portal.
Compensation slabs have been established for the loss of movable and immovable properties due to floods, and payments will be made following the due process and prescribed norms.
Furthermore, Chief Minister Khattar demonstrated his commitment to the welfare of citizens by announcing a compensation of Rs 2 lakh per person for the families of the 'Kanwariyas' who tragically lost their lives in various accidents during the recent Kanwar Yatra. A total of 24 deaths have been reported in connection with the pilgrimage.
