Haryana Govt Announces Tractor Subsidy on 45 HP Tractor Models for Farmers

Agricultural sector is one of the vast domains and to empower small and marginal farmers, the Haryana government has introduced a new tractor subsidy scheme. This initiative comes at a crucial time when agriculture, the backbone of India's economy, faces challenges like rising costs of essential equipment.

Tractors have become indispensable farm machines for modern farming, but their high price tags often pose a significant barrier for small and marginal farmers. Recognizing this challenge, the Haryana government's subsidy scheme aims to bridge the affordability gap and make tractors more accessible to this crucial segment of the agricultural community.

Scheme Details:

The scheme offers financial assistance of Rs. 1 lakh to Scheduled Caste (SC) farmers for purchasing tractors with a minimum horsepower of 45. This translates to a direct reduction in the overall cost of the tractor, making it easier for eligible farmers to invest in this essential equipment.

Transparent Selection Process:

To ensure fairness and transparency, the selection of beneficiaries will be conducted through a draw system overseen by the District Level Executive Committee. This approach minimizes the potential for bias and ensures that the benefits reach the intended beneficiaries.

Application Process and Key Dates:

The application process for the tractor subsidy scheme commenced on February 26, 2024, and will continue until March 11, 2024. Interested SC farmers can submit their online applications at the official website of the Haryana Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department - www.agriharyana.gov.in.

Eligibility Criteria:

Furthermore, to ensure the proper utilization of the subsidy, the beneficiary is required to retain the tractor for a minimum period of five years after purchase.
