The success stories emerging from the northeastern states underscore the transformative impact of government initiatives on rural and entrepreneurial communities. The efforts to empower farmers and entrepreneurs in these regions are crucial in creating sustainable livelihoods and fostering economic growth in the northeastern states.

Farmers and entrepreneurs in Assam, Meghalaya, and other northeastern states are witnessing increased income and reaping the benefits of government initiatives aimed at uplifting their livelihoods. Participants at the Vibrant North East 2023 summit held in Guwahati, including B Sangma, a woman farmer from Meghalaya's West Garo Hills district, expressed their satisfaction with the government's welfare schemes.

Sangma, who produces various types of chips, acknowledged the positive impact of government development schemes on her income. She highlighted the assistance provided by the agriculture and horticulture departments, stating that she has received financial support from government initiatives, leading to a growth in her earnings.

Margaret, a woman entrepreneur from Shillong, expressed her gratitude to the Meghalaya government for providing opportunities to showcase and sell their products. She emphasized the positive impact of government initiatives on the income and welfare of farmers in Meghalaya, highlighting the significant benefits they have received.

Another entrepreneur from Meghalaya, S Lyngdoh, shared how the government has created platforms for local producers to showcase and sell their products. Prior to these interventions, farmers in the Ri-Bhoi district faced challenges in selling their pineapple produce. However, with the government's support, they now have access to markets, and farmers are benefiting from the various government schemes.

It is not just farmers and entrepreneurs from Meghalaya who have experienced the positive effects of government interventions. Women's Self-Help Groups (SHGs) from Assam and other parts of the northeastern region have also benefitted from the welfare schemes implemented by both the central and state governments. Sangita Das, a member of an SHG from Assam's Kamrup (Metro) district, emphasized that all members of her group are benefiting from these government schemes, leading to increased income for the group as a whole.

Suditri, an employee of the North Eastern Regional Agricultural Marketing Corporation (NERAMAC), acknowledged that farmers and young entrepreneurs from across the entire northeastern region are witnessing positive outcomes from government initiatives. NERAMAC has played a vital role in providing them with platforms and markets to sell their products, further enhancing their profitability.
