Government to Resume Wheat Procurement, MP Farmers Appreciate
The government has decided to resume wheat procurement in Madhya Pradesh. They have also decided to extend the loan repayment for Kharif crops till 30th April. Farmers are very overwhelmed by this decision but also demand compensation for crop loss due to the occurrence of unseasonal rainfall.
Recently the government has decided to extend repayment for the kharif loan till April 30. They have also come up with the idea to resume the wheat procurement process. Through this decision, farmers are truly happy and they praise the government's decision. However many farmers still demand compensation for their crop loss faced due to unseasonal rainfall.
Bharatiya Kisan Majdoor Sena, state president Bablu Jadhav told that “they truly appreciate the government decision for resuming wheat procurement, which was earlier halted from March 28 to 31. He also told that it’s a blessing for all the farmers as the government has extended loan repayment for the Kharif crop from March 28 to 30 April.
Around 37,000 wheat producers have registered. The district administration has estimated that around 97 centers to make procurements of 1.75 Lac metric tonnes at Rs 2125 per quintal.
Jadhav also told that Indore, Khargone, Khandwa, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Shajapur, Agar, and some other districts have faced crop loss due to unseasonal rains.
Indore ADM Abhay Bedekar said that it has estimated that 15 % of crop loss has been faced in the village of Sanwer.
It has been reported that the government is only providing compensation when the case is being reported.
Khargone collector Shivraj Singh said that “ they have tried to complete a survey about information related to crop loss in villages of Bawaha tehsil. It has been also declared that soon compensation will be distributed amongst the farmers deeply affected by untimely rainfall and resulting into crop loss”.
