Garuda Aerospace Pioneers Drone Subsidy Program to Boost Agriculture in Tamil Nadu
In a groundbreaking initiative, a new scheme is revolutionizing agriculture with subsidized drone technology. By addressing labor shortages and improving crop health, it's set to transform farming practices nationwide.
India's renowned drone startup, Garuda Aerospace, has received approval for the subsidy under the Tamil Nadu government's agricultural mechanization scheme. Among the two chosen companies, Garuda Aerospace stands as a great example of innovation, addressing labor shortages and boosting crop production capabilities in the region.
As part of the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF), this pioneering program offers subsidies for drones utilized in pesticide spraying and the surveillance of pests and diseases in agriculture. It not only equips farmers to undergo training for licensed drone piloting but also allows them to hire certified pilots. Furthermore, those with bank loans for Garuda Aerospace's agricultural drones will benefit from a 3% interest subsidy under this initiative.
Agnishwar Jayaprakash, the Founder and CEO of Garuda Aerospace, has reiterated his dedication to the advancement of agricultural methods in both Tamil Nadu and the broader Indian landscape. He affirmed that the subsidy, provided within the framework of the agricultural mechanization initiative, will play a pivotal role in expediting the adoption of state-of-the-art technology, ultimately resulting in higher crop yields. The company expresses profound gratitude for the invaluable support of this scheme and remains unwavering in its commitment to empowering farmers with modern agricultural practices and technology.
