Fresh Rain Adds Trouble To Haryana Farmers Ahead Of Wheat Harvesting

The unseasonal rains have affected many regions in India. Farmers and agriculture experts have told that the untimely rain will bring them despair and excessive loss of wheat and mustard production. As harvesting is likely to be performed from the first week of April. Amidst this untimely rainfall, there would be a delay in wheat harvesting.

Moreover, this is the third spell of rain that has occurred in less than two weeks. Therefore has caused farmers immense loss in farm yield. Infact they have turned farmers' dreams of bumper production into great nightmares.

This has led farmers to tackle several problems that will disrupt their survival and livelihood.

The state of Haryana has received excess rainfall across many regions. According to  Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the state has reported a rainfall of 8.1 mm. Faridabad received rainfall of 15.7 mm, and 15.6 mm in Panchkula,8.8mm in Panipat, 6.8 mm in Kurukshetra, Sirsa, Ambala, and 5.6 mm in Yamunanagar.

Infact Haryana has received rainfall of 41.6 mm in rains reported in March.

Wheat production will be delayed. This is because they require an optimum environment for their proper growth, especially in the sun and hot weather.

Praveen Kumar, commission agent of Nilokheri grain market told that the arrival of wheat in mandis should have been in the first week of April.
