Amidst numerous government initiatives benefiting farmers and various segments of society, the free scooty scheme stands out. A notable transformation in this program aims to empower more female students. According to recent updates, state governments will now provide free scooters to girl students who secure 50 percent marks.

Previously, the criteria for receiving a scooty was 60 % marks for girls in the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education, Higher Secondary, or equivalent exams, and for girls achieving 70 % marks in the Central Board of Secondary Education's Higher Secondary or equivalent exams were eligible. However, this requirement has undergone a significant change. Now, girls attaining 50 percent marks in the 12th exams conducted by both State and Central Boards will qualify for the free scooty scheme.

The "Kalibai Bhil Meritorious Girl Scooty Scheme," known as the Free Scooty Scheme, has been adapted to accommodate this alteration. It aligns the eligibility criteria for both state and central board exams, allowing girls to qualify with 50 % marks. The amendment mirrors the "Devnarayan Chhatra Scooty Distribution Scheme," which provides scooters to girls based on similar criteria.

The scheme caters to girls from free, nomadic, and semi-nomadic backgrounds, with priority given to differently-abled girls. Six scooters are reserved for specially-abled girls from Vimukt, Nomadic, and Semi-Nomadic categories. In cases where eligible girls are unavailable, scooters will be awarded to general girls from these categories.

The Free Scooty Scheme boasts several key features that aim to create a more inclusive and empowered educational landscape for girls throughout Rajasthan. It emphasizes equal distribution of both scooters and incentives, ensuring parity between urban and rural beneficiaries.

Eligibility requires permanent residency in Rajasthan, with an annual family income of less than Rs. 2,50,000. The scheme extends its benefits to married, unmarried, and widowed women alike, while also stipulating that applicants' parents must not be government employees. A minimum of 50 percent marks in the 12th grade serves as a qualification benchmark.
