The Bihar government has begun the application process for farmers in the state, with the Bihar Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department awarding grants for agricultural implements used in weeding, irrigation, harvesting, threshing, and storage of Kharif crops. The state's farmers have been asked to apply by December 31. 

The Bihar Agriculture Department will provide farmers with a 40 to 80 percent subsidy on 90 different types of agricultural machines under the scheme.

Farmers in the district can apply for agricultural machinery subsidies by contacting their local Agriculture Department or Horticulture Department. Farmers can contact the concerned district and block agriculture officers if they encounter any problems with the application, according to the department. Farmers Are Encouraged To Apply For Agricultural Machinery Grants

Different targets have been set for 90 different types of agricultural machines in various districts of Bihar under the Government of Bihar Agricultural Mechanization Scheme. Subsidies are available under the scheme for the purchase of 90 different types of agricultural machines used for weeding, hoeing, irrigation, harvesting, sugarcane, and horticulture.

 The list of these machines, as well as subsidy information, can be found on the Bihar website Online Farm Mechanization Application Software (OFMAS). For your information, previously, this grant amount was only given to 10 types of agricultural machines, but now the government has decided to give farmers grants on 90 types of agricultural machines under this scheme. Furthermore, the department has stated that if farmers encounter any issues with the application, they should contact the relevant district and block the agriculture officer.

The agricultural machinery subsidy amount is... 

There is a provision in the Agricultural Mechanization Scheme to provide farmers in Bihar with a subsidy on the purchase cost of agricultural machinery based on the farmer's class and category. The Bihar government will provide a grant ranging from 40% to 80% on the purchase of various agricultural machines in the state. The farmer can receive a government subsidy of 40 to 80 percent of the cost of that agricultural machine under this program.

Furthermore, the department has stated that if farmers encounter any issues with the application, they should contact the relevant district and block the agriculture officer.

Documents required for application

Farmers are invited to apply for a subsidy on the purchase of agricultural machinery under the Bihar Agricultural Mechanization Scheme. 

  • Any permanent resident farmer in the state who is over the age of 18. 
  • The beneficiary farmer must have his land for cultivation; 
  • a certificate of agricultural land ownership;
  • an Aadhar card;
  • a PAN card;
  • a caste certificate; 
  • a residence certificate; 
  • a valid tractor registration certificate; 
  • a bank account passbook;
  • a passport size photo;
  • a mobile number linked with Aadhar Card,
  • And the bank account details, as well as the current freight receipt, should be linked. 

All necessary documents should be present.
