Krishi Jagran launched a new website tractornews.in and hosted a Webinar on Farm Mechanization. The main purpose of this platform is to provide the farmers with a digital window with detailed information and news on Agriculture Machinery/Equipment of various brands across the country.

He said as India is set to overtake China in Agriculture and Food Security, farm mechanization will help in a great way. He added that “At Mahindra, we have many new technologies for the farmers and with global & national investments with the startups, we will take the company to a new level.

About Hemant Sikka

Hemant Sikka, President, TMA & President- Farm Equipment, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. He manages a purchasing spend of Rs 30,000 crores for various divisions, manufacturing, Cars, SUVs, Trucks, Tractors, Two Wheelers, Buses & Construction Equipment.

In addition to his role as a CPO, he also leads Spare Parts & Genset businesses of Mahindra, both together having a turnover of Rs 4,000 crores. He is a member of the Group Executive Board and on the board of various group companies including Mahindra Trucks & Buses Ltd (MTBL), Mahindra Automotive Distributors Pvt Ltd (MADPL), Mahindra Insurance Brokers Ltd (MIBL), and Mahindra Telecom Energy Management Services Ltd & Mahindra Waste Energy Solution Ltd.

Prior to this, Hemant was the Head Purchase – SsangYong Motors, South Korea, a group subsidiary of Mahindra. He played a key role in purchasing domain by building strong business relationships with the Korean suppliers and led the SsangYong purchase team in significantly reducing the material costs.

Before his assignment in SsangYong Motors, Hemant was Head Manufacturing – Automotive Sector. He focused on workmen's involvement in improving quality & concluded long-term wage agreements with the workmen unions. Hemant also had a 9-year stint with the automobile company, Maruti Suzuki. Hemant chairs the Sourcing Council Group of SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers). In 2013, he was awarded the Procurement Excellence Award at the maiden Procurement Leaders Asia Pacific Awards in Singapore.
