Amidst the backdrop of India's ever-evolving agricultural landscape, the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations of India (FADA) has unveiled a compelling narrative of growth in the tractor sector. The eagerly awaited retail tractor sales report for July 2023, disclosed on August 7, showcases an impressive 21.06% surge in tractor sales, reflecting the resilience and potential of this crucial industry.
The figures reveal that a total of 90,765 units were sold in July 2023, as compared to 74,977 units in the same period of the previous year (July 2022). This growth trajectory presents a promising scenario for the original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in the tractor industry. Leading Brands Make Strides:
In a noteworthy breakdown of the sales data, prominent tractor brands showcased substantial growth, underscoring robust demand for these agricultural workhorses.*
Mahindra & Mahindra Limited registered an impressive growth of 46.30% by selling 20,920 tractors in July 2023, compared to 14,299 units in July 2022.
MAHINDRA & MAHINDRA Limited (Swaraj Division) achieved an even more remarkable growth of 55.32%, selling 16,379 tractors in July 2023, as opposed to 10,545 units in the same month last year.
TAFE Limited achieved a remarkable surge of nearly 59.53% with 12,421 tractors sold in July 2023, up from 7,786 units in July 2022.
INTERNATIONAL Tractors Limited exhibited a commendable growth of approximately 21.75%, with retail sales of 11,066 tractors in July 2023, compared to 9,089 units in July 2022.
In July 2023, ESCORTS Limited's (AGRI MACHINERY GROUP) sales surged to 8,530 tractors, indicating a remarkable growth of 35.18% compared to the 6,310 units sold in July 2022.
JOHN DEERE INDIA Pvt Ltd (Tractor Division) witnessed a substantial 23.44% growth, selling 5,519 units in July 2023, compared to 4,471 units in July 2022.
CNH Industrial (India) Pvt Ltd achieved impressive double-digit growth of 52.74%, selling 3,180 tractors in July 2023, surpassing the 2,082 units sold in July 2022.
