In a significant move to bolster its footprint in the Indian market, equipment specialist JOST has officially opened its second production plant in the country, strategically positioned near Chennai. The newly inaugurated facility, nestled in the Greenbase Industrial and Logistics Park owned by the Hiranandani group, is dedicated to the production of front loaders, associated implements, and backhoes for the well-known agriculture brand Quicke.
JOST's initial foray into Indian manufacturing began in 2008 with its operational facility in Jamshedpur, specializing in the production of fifth wheels, axles, suspensions, and related products. The recent expansion near Chennai reflects the company's commitment to catering to the evolving needs of the Indian market.
The state-of-the-art Chennai plant, erected in a remarkable timeframe of under 12 months, boasts modern manufacturing technologies and assembly lines spread across an expansive 16,866 square meters. Its strategic location near the port and within the industrially vibrant Oragadam area positions it conveniently amidst leading multinational commercial vehicle manufacturers, passenger car manufacturers, and global R&D centers.
