Domestic Tractor Sales Report May 2023: Modest Growth of 1.19% with 82,920 Units Sold

Domestic tractor sales in India, the world's largest market, experienced a marginal growth of 1.19% in May 2023, with a total of 82,920 tractors sold. The sales growth has been relatively low in the new fiscal year, but industry analysts remain optimistic about an anticipated rise in agri-tech sales in the upcoming months.

- Mahindra & Mahindra, India's largest tractor manufacturer, sold 33,113 units in May 2023, representing a decline of 3.05% compared to the same period last year. The brand also witnessed a decrease in market share by approximately 1.75%.

- TAFE (Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited) reported domestic tractor sales of 16,551 units in May 2023, marking a notable increase of 3.92% compared to May 2022. TAFE's market share witnessed a growth of 0.52%.

- Sonalika Tractors witnessed significant growth, selling 10,577 units in May 2023, representing an 11.42% increase from the previous year. The brand's market share also saw a rise of 1.17%.

- Escorts tractor sales rose by 13.53% with 8,704 units sold in May 2023. However, the brand experienced a slight decline in market share by 1.14%.

- American tractor giant John Deere recorded a decline in domestic tractor sales by 7.95%, with 6,591 units sold in May 2023. The brand also witnessed a decrease in market share by 0.79%.

- New Holland saw significant growth of approximately 10.15%, selling 3,146 tractors in May 2023. The brand's market share also experienced an increase of 0.31%.

- Japan-based Kubota recorded a decline in domestic tractor sales by 12.43%, with only 1,705 units sold in May 2023. The brand also witnessed a decrease in market share by 0.32%.

- Indo Farm observed a minor growth of 0.87%, selling 582 units in May 2023. The brand's market share remained unchanged.

- Preet's domestic tractor sales in May 2023 increased by 3.40%, with an overall sale of 578 units. The brand's market share experienced a slight growth of 0.01%.

- VST recorded a significant decline in sales by 36.40%, with only 325 units sold in May 2023. The brand's market share also witnessed a decrease of 0.23%.

- Force company sold 280 tractors in May 2023, experiencing a decline in sales by 13.31%. The brand also witnessed a decrease in market share by 0.06%.

- Captain tractors reported sales of 477 units in May 2023, representing a 3.02% increase compared to May 2022. The brand's market share also witnessed a slight growth of approximately 0.01%.

- ACE witnessed a rise in sales by 5.88% in May 2023, with approximately 234 tractors sold. The brand's market share also experienced a small increase of 0.01%.

- SDF reported a significant decline in domestic tractor sales by 32.94%, with only 57 units sold in May 2023. The brand's market share also witnessed a dip of 0.03%.
