Dhanuka Agritech Expands Crop Care Portfolio with the Introduction of 'Defend' Insecticide

Dhanuka Agritech, a prominent agri-input company in India, has further strengthened its crop care portfolio with the launch of a new insecticide called 'Defend,' the company announced today. This latest addition aims to provide comprehensive protection against hoppers, offering farmers an effective solution for crop pest management.

Containing Triflumezopyrim 10 percent SC, Defend insecticide is designed to combat the menace of hoppers. Its active ingredient, Pyraxalt, works by inhibiting neurotransmission in affected insects, effectively controlling their spread and eliminating them. According to Dhanuka Agritech, Defend insecticide offers instant protection against first-generation Brown Plant Hopper (BPH) and White Backed Plant Hopper (WBPH) on paddy crops, requiring only a single application. Additionally, it is reported to effectively control the various life stages of these insects.

With the introduction of Defend insecticide and a robust product pipeline for the year, Dhanuka Agritech aims to further enhance its position in the crop care product segment. The company has been actively expanding its range of agricultural solutions, recently launching two selective herbicides, Mesotrax and Implode, during the first quarter of FY2023-24.
