For the welfare and development of the nation's farmers, the Indian government introduces a number of programmes or schemes. Since farmers are the foundation of the Indian agricultural sector, it is crucial to take care of them and offer them support so that they can make a greater contribution to the expansion of the economy.
As implied by the name, this scheme is related to tractors. Although a tractor is a necessary component of farming, due to their high price, not all farmers can afford one. They would then need to rent a tractor, which would increase the price. In light of this circumstance, the government introduced the Tractor Scheme, which offers eligible farmers a subsidy for the purchase of tractors.
Farmers will be selected for tractor subsidy through a lottery, know the complete information
In this sequence, the Haryana government recently invited applications for tractors with a 50% subsidy for scheduled caste farmers. Farmers were asked to submit applications by January 10th.
As a result, the eligible farmers will be chosen at random from among these applications. The department has requested that farmers deposit the draw registration fee. Farmers can pay the draw registration fee until January 20, 2023. Only applications from farmers who pay the draw registration fee will be considered for the lottery.
Farmers' applications, on the other hand, will be canceled if they do not pay the draw registration fee by the deadline. As a result, farmers who have applied under the Haryana government's tractor subsidy scheme should visit the agriculture department as soon as possible to obtain the necessary information and deposit the draw registration fee to be selected for the tractor subsidy by lottery.
How much will the farmers have to pay to enter the draw?
According to media reports, as per Dr. Wazir Singh, Deputy Director of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, during the fiscal year 2022-23, under the Agriculture Department's SB-89 scheme, Scheduled Caste farmers who purchased tractors on Saral Portal before January 10 will receive a subsidy.
It has been made mandatory for verified farmers who have applied for the draw registration fee of Rs. 10,000 to deposit it on the departmental portal https://agriharyana.gov.in/ between January 16 and January 20, or their application will be canceled. As a result, farmers can participate in the tractor subsidy lottery by paying the draw registration fee within the time limit.
Farmers will be chosen for subsidies through a lottery system.
The District Level Executive Committee (DLEC), led by the Deputy Commissioner, will select the beneficiary through an online draw. Following selection, the selected farmer will receive the tractor model of his/her choice from the empanelled approved manufacturers/dealers, and his/her share of the cost (excluding grant amount) will be deposited in the manufacturer's/approved distributor's account (with portal/ e-voucher) must be submitted.
The manufacturer/distributor must request a grant e-voucher through the directorate's portal or via e-mail, providing information about the farmer, bank details, tractor model, and cost. After PMU and bank verification, a digital e-voucher will be issued to the authorized manufacturer/approved distributor.
