Deadline Extended: Farmers Get Additional Two Weeks to Apply for Agricultural Machinery Subsidy
The agricultural machinery subsidy program plays a crucial role in promoting modern farming practices, enhancing productivity, and ensuring the well-being of farmers. By extending the application deadline and introducing a more equitable selection process, the Uttar Pradesh government aims to maximize the positive impact of the subsidy initiative on the state's agricultural community.
Farmers in Uttar Pradesh have received a welcome extension to apply for subsidies on agricultural machinery, with the deadline pushed back by two weeks to December 14. The subsidy program covers a range of agricultural equipment, including mechanization tools, farm protection equipment, custom hiring centers, high-tech hubs for custom hiring, threshing floors, and small godowns.
Until now, the selection of beneficiaries followed a first-come-first-serve basis. However, the process has undergone a transition, and the authorities have introduced an e-lottery system for booking agricultural machines valued at over Rs 10,000. This change aims to streamline the allocation process and ensure fairness in the distribution of subsidies.
A spokesperson from the Uttar Pradesh government highlighted that the e-lottery system for booking machines has commenced, marking the end of the previous first-come-first-serve approach. This transition is expected to enhance transparency and offer an equal opportunity to all eligible farmers in the state.

To accommodate potential beneficiaries, the government has decided to maintain a waiting list equivalent to 50% of the selected beneficiaries. This strategic move ensures that a significant number of farmers stand a chance to benefit from the subsidy program, even if they are not initially selected.
